A Lead Creative Strategist

You might refer to yourself as a Design Strategist, Experience Strategist, Human-Centered Designer, Service Designer, Business Strategist—or multiple of these depending on the day.

As a Lead Creative Strategist at Other Tomorrows, you’ll guide client engagements and project teams to help forward-looking organizations imagine and create new experiences, products, and services through a human-centered process. You’ll collaborate closely with teammates to move projects from insight to action—using your communication skills to align people behind a clear, compelling strategic vision. You’ll lead research to uncover both functional and emotional user needs, identify patterns and insights, and translate those into creative, actionable opportunities. From there, you’ll help shape and bring ideas to life—balancing desirability, feasibility, viability, and operability along the way.

What You'll be Doing

-Collaborate with strategists, designers, developers, and clients to learn, design, and lead strategies grounded in human insights.

-Lead research using qualitative and quantitative methods, translating insights into actionable strategies and experiences that go beyond fixing pain points.

-Guide projects or work streams with support, mentoring and coaching less experienced team members along the way.

-Plan, facilitate, and synthesize client meetings and workshops, producing clear frameworks that make complex ideas understandable and actionable.

-Ensure strategic intent, brand fit, and user-centric thinking carry through execution—balancing desirability with feasibility, viability, and operational realities.

-Stay curious and current—sharing emerging cultural, business, and research trends that add value to our work.

-Contribute to multiple projects at varying stages, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and identifying new opportunities to strengthen deliverables.

-Represent and reinforce Other Tomorrows’ culture, ethics, and values internally and externally, modeling curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Your Experience

-7–10+ years of design strategy experience, including 2–3 years leading projects, teams, or client relationships in an agency or consultancy setting

-Deep experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods-Strong portfolio of work showing how user insights translate into actionable strategy and tangible outcomes

-Experience tackling multi-channel challenges spanning digital, physical, service, customer, and employee experiences

-Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills with exceptional attention to detail

-Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to shifting project needs-Business strategy and modeling experience a plus

-Based in or willing to relocate to the Boston area to work in person 3+ days per week (hybrid studio environment)

-Authorized to work in the United States and open to travel regularly for research and client engagements

SALARY & LEVEL

Other Tomorrows utilizes clear salary bands and tiers based on experience, expectations, and responsibilities. We strive to be transparent about these bands to avoid bias during hiring and promotions. The team will happily explain more about these tiers and associated expectations during the interview process.

Please note: Salary ranges below reflect base salary. Total compensation includes base salary plus benefits.

This role is for a level 4 or level 5 practitioner.

Level Four: Lead Creative Strategist (Typically 6-8+ years experience)

Base Salary Band: $120,000–$140,000

Level Five: Associate Director, Design Strategy (Typically 8-12+ years experience)

Base Salary Band: $140,000–$160,000
